What happened on 14 June 2017 has local, national and international repercussions that are without limit. The process of unravelling what happened that night, and the decision-making procedures which led tothe worst peacetime atrocity of our time, identifying who is responsible, who is accountable, and who may be guilty, will be revealed daily by the Public Inquiry.

The police investigation, which has already interviewed senior figures under caution, will eventually come to its conclusions, and many will hope that those who made the decision to save money on the Tower refurbishment – when the school next to it had been constructed to a high standard and complying with all safety measure including noncombustible mineral wool cladding – are identified and suffer the legal consequences.

Running in parallel to the Inquiry and police investigation are in-depth research, reports and investigations by architects, the construction industry, health and safety specialists and cladding manufacturers.

Where possible and helpful to processes of justice, I will comment and update this page with positions and publications.

Wednesday 28 May saw the all-singing, all-dancing Full Council Mayor-Making and AGM. For those used to RBKC Council’s ongoing deafness to tone it did not disappoint.
